Do I have to retype my price book?
No. Upload your spreadsheet or a distributor price list; CostBook sorts it and skips subtotal rows. Or start from a sample panel-shop price book.
Can I import a BOM from EPLAN or AutoCAD Electrical?
Yes. Import CSV or Excel, or paste rows. EPLAN and AutoCAD Electrical exports are recognized and matched to your price book by part number. New parts get a one-time review.
How does CostBook catch what's missing from a quote?
You pick must-have categories like FAT and crating. A quote can't go out until each is priced or waived with a reason, and unpriced lines get flagged.
Do price changes affect quotes I've already sent?
No. Sent quotes keep their prices. You're told when a price changes, and decide line by line or all at once.
Can my customer see my costs or margin?
Never. Costs and margins stay out of the quote link and the PDF.
Do customers get a PDF for their PO?
Yes. Every quote comes as a PDF, with the drawings and datasheets you pick, to download or email. Customers can also accept online.
Is accepting online the same as an e-signature?
Not quite. The customer types a name and email and taps Accept. CostBook records who, when and which version. There's no drawn signature, so check your terms.
Can I upload export-controlled drawings?
No. CostBook isn't set up for ITAR- or EAR-controlled technical data. Prices, part numbers and hours are fine; keep controlled drawings out.
Does it do quantity breaks, invoicing or scheduling?
Not yet. No quantity breaks, invoicing, job costing or scheduling. Pro exports won quotes for QuickBooks Online to import, but doesn't sync.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Customers view and accept quotes on any phone. You can check quotes, change quantities and share them from your phone too. BOM work is best on a computer.
How much does it cost?
Base is $99 a month per business, for up to 3 quote builders. Pro is $199 a month, no cap, plus buy lists and QuickBooks exports. Viewers are free. 14-day free trial, no credit card.
What if I stop paying?
You're not locked out. Sign in any time to see and download everything.
Which countries do you support?
The US, every Canadian province and territory (Quebec in French), and the Philippines. Elsewhere, set your own taxes and currency.
